On the bench now.
- A Dactyl — handwired, split, curved, and about as complicated as a keyboard gets before it stops being a keyboard. Currently a few hundred solder joints in.
- Echo Show conversion — two Echo Show 5s prised off Amazon's firmware onto LineageOS, running Home Assistant as bedside dashboards that answer to me instead.
- A garage door controller — being rebuilt on wired Ethernet, after diagnosing that the Wi-Fi module lost packets specifically when the door was open.
- Reko — a modular open-source data catalogue, built from scratch as a test of how far AI-assisted engineering actually goes.
- Cockpit — a terminal day-management app. Rust, with a plugin model over stdio.
Shipped
- Rearview — an iOS app that turns camera-roll metadata into shareable look-back cards.
- An idle game about running a software company, which taught me more about balance spreadsheets than about Swift.
Running
- A knowledge base that syncs across several machines, with automation layered over it. The source of several of the incidents written up here.
- A morning brief that assembles the day from calendars, tasks and mail, and delivers it somewhere I'll actually read it.
